Easter NO More!

Read on to see why Tavin is wearing his galoshes!
I had a flashback to a christmas a few years ago, this Sunday morning! I remember being a little kid trying so hard to sleep when the Easter bunny or Santa was going to show up at my house in the middle of the night! But eventally sleep won out, at least until 5:30 am. Well for some reason my boys just don't need sleep.

A few years ago on Christmas eve, Teaghen stayed up all night crying and whining about how he wanted to open his presents. By the morning I was so mad I cried while Teaghen and Taite opened only half of their presents (I took the other half back)!

It happened all over again on Sunday, only this time it was all three of them. I was up until 12am putting together their baskets, and Jer got home from work at 2am. When he went to check on the boys Teaghen was in Tavin's bed (they have a bunk bed with a trundle on the bottom that pulls out for Tavin). Jer told Teaghen to get back in his bed and go back to sleep. That is when the circus began. I really don't remember how many times Jer and I got up to threaten their lives if they didn't go back to sleep. But after the 5th or 6th time of them coming in and out of our room, Teaghen came in, in a panic! I had my ear plugs in and I just yelled, "I don't care what it is, just get out of my room!" He keep trying to talk and I just keep yelling "Out! Out! Out!" Well thank goodness for a husband that actually listens to his kids (sometimes!)

Jer got out of bed and went to see what Teaghen was freaking out about. Well I guess Teaghen was in bed asleep, when Taite came and woke him up to make him the bearer of bad news! When Jer got to the kitchen he yelled, "Ryanne, I'm going to need your help on this one!" So I rolled out of bed to see!!!!!!

The baskets were still on the table looking like they haven't even been touched, and the trail of bunny poop on the floor haden't moved (which is just milk duds placed in groups of three ((Thanks to my sister Kellie for that idea! My boys love the bunny poop)) The only difference was that the poop was now floating in about an inch of water in the kitchen and dinning room.

Tavin had climbed up on the counter and pulled the kitchen faucet out as far as it would go and proceeded to flood our house! It was everywhere, under the fridge, stove, etc! Thank goodness I had stole my friend Mardi's carpet cleaner. Jer proceded to suck up the water while I wiped up the extra in the corners and make sure everything was dry!

After we got Tavin in dry clothes and cleaned up everything, yes that includes easter baskets, bunny poop, we through them back in bed. Tavin sleep in our bed with us so I could catch him before he could escape, again! Teaghen's sugar high, from the 2am snacking on sugar filled eggs, had now dropped and he wouldn't stop crying! So, I threw him in Tavin's old room so hopefully Taite would be able to fall back to sleep. Taite's sugar high was still going strong, and to be truthful, I don't think he ever went back to sleep!

After many attempts of Taite trying to wake us up, we finally woke up a 10am! 10am! If anyone knows us... you know, that we have woken' the dead by 6:30 am everyday. So to sleep in until 10am. . . yah that hasn't happened since I have had kids!

After we had woke up and were laying in bed, I noticed that our door would open and shut and nobody was there. Come to find out Taite had been sneaking in and out of our room taking things from his basket, which I had left by our door! Seriously do they think we are idiots!

We had both decided that they would not be getting anything from the Easter bunny this year, and we actually stuck to our guns! I had Taite bring all his stuff back! They were bummed but maybe next time they will stay in their beds!

Once we got up I went in the room Teaghen was in and it looked like it had been robbed! The bed was destroyed, blankets and pillow everywhere, chairs turned upside down and little pieces of candy were chopped up and throw all over the room. They had even got out a little fan my mother in law left there. Later Teaghen confessed that they had been throwing little pieces of candy into the fan! Which explained the peices of candy throw everywhere!

To top it off! We were leaving to get some awesome BBQ at my Uncles in Cedar when Tavin started to throw up! Over and Over and Over! Once again we hauled out the carpet cleaner (Thank you Mardi) and cleaned the carpet in the boys room and ours after he threw up the strawberry slushy I had giving him!

The rest of the day was a blur! But I will never forget this Easter! Hopefully my boys won't either! But what I really hope is that they remember to keep their butts in bed!

p.s. Our kitchen floor is starting to warp! There must have been water that got under the planks! One day I will get to have a nice house, but then I'll probably have grandboys! lol
